Our regular meetings are as follows.
For news of other recent or forthcoming activities, including updates related to the coronavirus, see What's On.
Sundays – 10.30 am
Sunday mornings are our main time each week to gather around Christ, sing songs old and new, and pray together.
There will be a sermon. Our sermons usually follow a series based on reading through a book of the Bible. At the end of the message we have an opportunity for questions and comment.
We meet at 10.30am and generally finish between 11.45 and 12.00.
Older children usually stay in the main meeting, but for younger ones there is a creche or Bible class during the sermon, with some lively activities according to their age.
The first Sunday in each month is our family communion, when we celebrate the Lord's Supper as part of the main meeting. We encourage children and their carers to stay in these meetings.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks are served afterwards with conversations, prayers and making of new friendships.
On Sundays, come to the main entrance on Brock Place. If the two steps would be an obstacle to you, we have an alternative entrance at the corner of the car park; there is one low step there, and we have a portable ramp to help with that.
As tardes de Domingo (Sunday afternoons)
Bethel Baptist Church (our Portuguese language sister church) meets from 3pm.
Parent and Toddler Group – SUSPENDED
Every Wednesday 10am till 12 noon in term time (including half-term holidays), we get out our large play equipment, games and activities in a clean space to enjoy them.
We have lots of excellent large play toys and a large clean warm place with toy cars and tricycles, mini trampolines, sand trays and much more besides. Adults and children get to make new friends in a fun and safe environment.
Please tell anyone with young children that they are welcome to come to the P & T group.
Midweek meetings – SUSPENDED
Bible study and prayer
We currently meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 pm, finishing around 9.15.
These are Bible workshops with time for prayer. They are intended for anyone interested in the Christian faith and relating it to daily life. We call it a workshop, meaning that everyone together discovers and works at hearing God through the text, gaining new insights on the way.
The meeting is currently held in the church hall.
For the church hall, come to the entrance on Maddams St. There is one step, but we have a portable ramp for anyone who needs step-free access.
At 9.00am each Saturday, several of us gather to pray for an hour or so. Start with a reviving tea or coffee if you need it. This little meeting has seen many answers to prayer, and you can always ask us for prayer. It is often sparsely attended, but we believe it is one the most important moments in our week – an hour talking to God, and agreeing together on what we ask Him to do.
Every Saturday we practise music, singing, drumming and percussion, from 10.15am until about 11.30. This is when we choose our songs for Sunday together.
For the Saturday meetings, come to the church hall entrance on Maddams St.
